On the 16th of March 2017, the first debate will be held at Hadlow College to discuss the subject of compulsory purchase and impact of major infrastructure and development proposals on landowners, farmers and rural businesses in Kent. The conflict between demand for development and preservation of the countryside is a difficult balancing act hence the debate is set to be interesting.
The pressures on land across the South East have never been higher, especially in Kent, where there are multiple schemes under discussion from major new developments to large infrastructure projects such as the Lower Thames Crossing, the Richborough Connection and the site of the lorry park adjacent to the M20 for Operation Stack.
The debate is free of charge but places must be booked in advance. For more details head to www.cla.org.uk
