Hadlow College Grooming Department offering

The Hadlow College Grooming Department is run in a unique partnership with PIF – the Pet Industry Federation. Hadlow College students have won the vast majority of the awards at the Inter-college Dog Grooming Competitions.

There are many benefits with grooming dogs with the main one being it forms a closer relationship between dog and owner as stress levels are reduced. The bond is improved as the process of grooming the dog is relaxing for both the owner and the dog, creating positive emotion and feelings towards each other. As well as the emotional benefits, there are also health benefits such as the blood circulation of the dog being improved through brushing, grease levels are reduced so no pores will be blocked and it reduces the discomfort that the dog may be in!

Owners of any of the following breeds are invited to have their dog groomed for free – followed by free maintenance. 

The breeds required are:

  • English Cocker Spaniel
  • English Springer Spaniel
  • West Highland White Terrier
  • Cairn Terrier
  • Sealyham Terriers
  • Miniature Schnauzers
  • Miniature Poodles
  • Wire Fox Terriers
  • Welsh Terriers
  • Lakeland Terriers
